Corporate Communications and Public Relations Officer
Job Summary
Andrews Memorial Hospital Limited (AMH) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Corporate Communications and Public Relations Officer to support the planning and execution of internal and external communications.
This role works closely with the Communications Manager to strengthen the AMH brand, support patient trust, and ensure that all communications are accurate, professional, and aligned with healthcare standards. The successful candidate will contribute to content creation, media relations, digital communications, and outreach initiatives, while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate and Internal Communications
- Draft internal communications, staff updates, and leadership messages
- Support change communications for new services and operational updates
- Assist with speeches, talking points, and briefing notes
Public Relations and Media Relations Support
- Monitor media coverage and prepare summaries
- Draft press releases, media statements, and story pitches
- Support media enquiries, interviews, and press coordination
Content Development and Storytelling
- Create content for website, newsletters, campaigns, and patient materials
- Develop patient stories and staff features (with proper consent)
- Ensure all content aligns with brand and healthcare communication standards
Digital Communications and Social Media
- Manage social media content calendars and draft posts
- Respond to online enquiries appropriately while protecting patient privacy
- Track and report on digital engagement and performance
Marketing Support and Community Outreach
- Support campaigns and service promotions
- Assist with community events, outreach activities, and hospital initiatives
- Coordinate event communications and post-event reporting
Issues and Crisis Communication Support
- Assist in drafting statements, advisories, and FAQs during incidents
- Support crisis communication planning and response efforts
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper approvals at all times
Administrative and Coordination Responsibilities
- Maintain organized records of communications and media outputs
- Assist with vendor coordination (printing, media, creative services)
- Support reporting on communications activities
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication/Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- 1–3 years’ experience in communications, PR, or a similar role
- Experience in healthcare, public sector communications or regulated environments is an asset.
